MEET THE TEAM
We started this club to shake up the status quo of the American Mahjong standard that's come to be.
Our tables are for anyone who’s curious, competitive, or just here for the vibe. Beginners sit next to seasoned players. Rules get learned and broken. Wins get celebrated, losses get laughed off, and every game turns into a story.
This is a space for people who want connection without small talk, competition without ego, and a reason to put their phones down for a few hours.
Come for the tiles. Stay for the vibe.

Annah has always been a lover of games. She believes they’re one of the best ways to bring people together - offering connection, laughter, and just enough competition to keep things interesting, all without the pressure of forced small talk.
The Mahjong Club was born almost by accident. Nine months pregnant and curious if anyone else might want to play, Annah built a simple website, sprinkled in some SEO, and hit publish. She figured maybe a handful of people would be interested.
Instead, her inbox was flooded.
Annah makes it a point to not make Mahjong her entire personality; you can also find her running her boutique branding agency, coaching lacrosse at Brighton High School, playing tennis, exploring the outdoors, and spending her time with her husband, baby, and their lovable rescue mutt. She believes hobbies are meant to add joy to life — not take it over — and that’s exactly the energy she brings to the club.
Her goal? Keep it fun. Keep it light. Keep it welcoming. Whether you’re a seasoned player or brand new to the tiles, there’s a seat at the table for you.
Come for the tiles. Stay for the laughs. Leave with a new friend?

I first learned how to play American Mahjong at Dough Lady with Niki Sealy (Magic of Mahjong) who was in town from Alabama. With sticky cinnamon bun fingers and a bit of beginner's luck, I got Mahjong in my first game. There's nothing like the thrill of your first Mahjong win — I was hooked. I love the creativity that goes into finding a way to win. The long, rich history of the game is fascinating and playing feels like taking part in an age-old tradition. I’m also competitive when playing games and sports so Mahjong really feeds that part of me.
Outside of Mahjong, I have 90% dog and 10% cat energy. Like dogs, I’m interested in people, I spend lots of time running around outside, and I’m fiercely loyal. My cat side comes out when I need quiet time to recharge or else I get feisty.
As an instructor, my goal is for you to learn by doing. I try to get beginners hands-on and playing as soon as possible. I aim to break things down in a way that builds confidence and understanding. It’s important to remember that Mahjong can get competitive, but it’s also a game — and games are meant to be fun.
